Marks 20th Anniversary by Descending into Manhattan in the Knick of Time to Celebrate Toy Fair
(New York) February 12, 2013 – The Power Rangers, who have been entertaining fans all over the world for two decades, had a 20th anniversary celebration yesterday in New York with a series of surprise visits to iconic locations in Manhattan. The visit to New York City around Toy Fair culminated with a basketball game with and against another NY hero – the Knicks’ JR Smith.
During the day, the Power Rangers stopped by the Javits Center for the 2013 American International Toy Fair travelled to Lincoln Center to hobnob with fashionistas attending Fashion Week, and queued up for Broadway tickets at the famed TKTS booth in Times Square.
In between, they grabbed coffee at Starbucks and ate Lombardi’s Pizza. The Power Rangers made like real New Yorkers by riding the subway to Wall Street, and played tourists by taking in the sights at the Empire State Building. Their day was capped by a one-of-a-kind New York experience as New York Knicks Shooting Guard JR Smith welcomed the 20 Red Rangers to Chelsea Piers for a game of basketball.
